Sunset

Sunset is one of Vancouver's earliest communities, it was originally named South Hills until 1967 when it was changed after the naming of Sunset Nurseries, Sunset Park, and Sunset Community Centre. Sunset is situated between 41st Ave. (North) & the Fraser River and between Ontario St. (West) & Knight St. (East). Sunset is an ethnically diverse, working class neighborhood that is filled with a mix of single family homes, low rise apartment buildings, and small retail shops.

Main St. is the major shopping area in Sunset, and is home to the Punjabi Market shopping district, where you can find unique Punjabi food, clothing, and entertainment stores. Knight St. is Vancouver's major trucking route which connects Vancouver's ports with its southern suburbs and communities.
