University of British Columbia

UBC is located in the western most part of Vancouver and is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean to the North &West, the UBC Endowment Lands to the West, and Pacific Spirit Regional Park to the South. UBC is a self sustainable community with an abundance of cultural and recreational facilities as well as many shops and services. The area consists of 7 sub neighborhoods; North Campus, East Campus, Chancellor Place, University Boulevard, Hawthorne Place, Hampton Place, and Wesbrook Place. Each sub neighborhood has many pedestrian paths, cycling routes, and bus routes to make getting around very easy, as well to discourage the dependency of an automobile.

There are a number of housing options available to UBC students, faculty, and staff, including those with families. There is a large quantity of rental housing and co-development housing, as well there is market housing available for anyone wishing to purchase a home. Whichever housing option you choose, you will find it easy to live, work, and study in UBC.
